Free of false alarms. That means peace and safety!
A tear wire system is a thin electric wire, connected to the fence with cable ties or by threading through. Usually two lines are assembled to the fence in different heights. The tear wire itself is connected as an alarm line to the alarm system. If the wire is severed, the line is broken and the alarm is triggered. Generally, alarm zones are formed with lines of approximately 250 m fence length, allowing the appointed security personnel a simple alarm localisation. This arrangement has proven well for maximum camera surveillance range.
The special benefit of a tear wire system is the stability and immunity against nuisance alarms. Because mechanical damages only trigger alarms, wind, weather, vegetation and animals at the fence are not incidents for alarms. Therefore, the tear wire is almost 100% free of undesired alarms and accomplishes peace and increased security!
The tear wire technology presents a cost-efficient solution for fence monitoring but it is only suitable if you reckon the fence to be demolished or the panels to be stolen. Climbing over or under the fence will not be detected. With adequate knowledge of electrical engineering, it is possible to bypass or lever out the system as well
