On the weekend of November 18/19, a brazen theft took place at the Ehndorf solar park in Schleswig-Holstein. The thieves accessed the park grounds via a paddock directly from the main road, cut open the fence and stole 186 solar modules worth around EUR 38,000 on pallets
On November 11, employees of the operating company reported an attempted break-in at the aforementioned solar park. Parts of the fencing had been cut open. For reasons as yet unexplained, the perpetrators were unable to gain access to the site. Note from AVASUN: This could well have been a test break-in to test the reaction of the police or security service.
Between October 13 and 25, a theft of several kilometers of copper cables occurred in Ahorn, Baden-Wurttemberg. The burglary took place via illegal access over a fence. The value of the loot amounts to several thousand euros. The total damage has not been quantified.
A serious theft occurred at the weekend at a solar park in Lüttow-Valluhn in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In this burglary, approximately 70 km (70,000 m) of cable harnesses were stolen and taken away. This suggests a high degree of organization. It is noteworthy that the operating company received an error message during the aforementioned period, but nevertheless did not check the system until the following Monday. The damage amounts to approx. 200,000 EUR.
A serious theft occurred at the low Saxon PV Park Kutenholz over the weekend. Unknown perpetrators stole over 10,000 m of copper cable from the plant. They entered the premises of the solar park unnoticed and dismantled the cables, whereupon the power production of the solar park completely collapsed. The total damage amounts to over 100,000 EUR.
Once again, solar modules were stolen from a solar park near Landsberg/Lech. Unknown perpetrators stole about 600 solar modules and transported them away. This clearly suggests organized crime given the quantities and level of organization for such a crime. The value of the solar modules is ei about 70,000 EUR. The total damage is not quantified.
According to the police report, the theft occurred in the morning hours of 25.09.2023 at the solar park Gielow/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Unknown perpetrators gained access to the solar park by force and manipulated the access gate for the entrance of a truck. They then dismantled 38 inverters with a total weight of 1900 kg and damaged numerous cables in the process. The value of the stolen inverters is estimated at approximately 95,000 EUR. However, the material damage is much higher and amounts to 223,000 EUR, i.e. more than double the value of the loot. Presumably, the own costs to be borne with regard to the failure of the plant are not even included in the property damage.
In Zinna, Thuringia, unknown persons stole several inverters worth about 40,000 EUR from a solar park in the area of a biogas plant. In addition, there was property damage estimated at several 10,000 EUR.
Unknown persons entered the premises of the solar park in Gotha on Monday night and stole 85 copper cable reels worth several thousand euros. The loot was presumably taken away in a vehicle.
Approximately 8000 m of copper cable were stolen from a solar park near Nienburg/Saale probably over the weekend. The police suspect that nevertheless only one vehicle was used. The damage is not quantified.
