According to the police report, the theft occurred in the morning hours of 25.09.2023 at the solar park Gielow/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Unknown perpetrators gained access to the solar park by force and manipulated the access gate for the entrance of a truck. They then dismantled 38 inverters with a total weight of 1900 kg and damaged numerous cables in the process. The value of the stolen inverters is estimated at approximately 95,000 EUR. However, the material damage is much higher and amounts to 223,000 EUR, i.e. more than double the value of the loot. Presumably, the own costs to be borne with regard to the failure of the plant are not even included in the property damage.
